Fellow Region 12 Members and our friends, this past Monday, January 4th, 2016, our good friend Dennis Bain passed away.  He was scheduled for surgery to implant a defibrillator but he had two additional heart attacks prior to the scheduled time of the surgery and he did not make it through the second.  He leaves behind his son Dakota (Cody) and his fiancee Crystal Rodriguez (also a fellow R12 member).

It was only two months ago when I served as the Master of Ceremonies at the commissioning of his ship, the USS Valiant, after proving itself ready to patrol the Missouri sector with distinction.  It is with deep sadness that I acknowledge his reassignment to the Fleet on patrol in the next realm of space-time continuum.  As I said to Crystal recently, we shall honor him and allow the light that he shone to continue to burn bright, continuing to guide us as it always has.

He shall be greatly missed by all his friends and family but I know that he will be there waiting to welcome us aboard his new vessel when we each cross the final frontier of this stage of life and start our new adventure with resumed friendship.
