Public Relations Director, Department of Communications
The Public Relations Director will serve as a key strategist for developing communication campaigns that publicize the Fiftieth Anniversary of STARFLEET in 2024, raise awareness of STARFLEET, promote a positive image of STARFLEET, and drive engagement (recruitment) with the public and fandom at large. Duties will include crafting news releases and advertisements, developing relationships with media outlets (print and social media), coordinate interviews and media coverage, shaping and maintaining brand recognition, and creating messages across different communication channels. The Public Relations Director reports to the STARFLEET Chief of Communication. Note: An Assistant Public Relations Director may also be selected from the candidates.
Skills:
*Excellent writing abilities to create press releases, articles, advertisement content, and other materials
*Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy and professionalism
*Excellent social media engagement skills
*Ability to work cooperatively with other departments
*Experience in securing media coverage and placement of advertisements
Requirements:
*Training, education, and experience in the public relations field
*Member in good standing in STARFLEET for at least 3 years
*Of special note: because of the immediacy of the need for this position, an experienced professional is sought.
