| Description of Role |
|
The Webmaster is a pivotal role responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of our auxiliary website. The Webmaster oversees the entire website, maintaining updates and curating an overall visual appeal for the site. This position requires a creative thinker, an excellent communicator, and a meticulous editor who can enhance the visitor’s experience.
Key Responsibilities:
● Website Production:
○ Conceptualize, plan, and produce a website for SFIN.
○ Collaborate with SFIN Staff in order to upkeep and maintain relevant information for SFIN.
○ Ensure adherence to SFI website rules.
● Content Curation:
○ Work closely with other departments to source pertinent information.
○ Curate engaging content, providing for an overall appealing experience for visitors to the SFIN website.
● Collaboration with SFIN Staff:
○ Partner with the Senior Collections Officer to maintain an exclusive content, interviews, and insights archive.
○ Partner with the Intelligence Collections Officer to maintain a database of all research items in an easy to utilize format.
○ Partner with Regional Intelligence Liaisons to update and maintain a database of all conventions and events within the various regions of STARFLEET International.
○ Enhance the visual appeal of content through layout and design.
● Proofreading:
○ Thoroughly review all content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
○ Correct grammar, spelling, and formatting errors.
● Aesthetic Enhancement:
○ Elevate the visual presentation of the website.
○ Collaborate with graphic designers or use available tools to create visually appealing content.
○ Select high-quality images and illustrations to complement content.
● Other duties as assigned by the Director. |
| Skills Needed |
|
● Proficiency in HTML and CSS
● Knowledge of JavaScript a plus
● Familiarity with CMS platforms
● Basic Graphic Design knowledge a plus
● Basic PHP knowledge a plus
● Understanding of UX/UI principles
● Basic SQL knowledge
● Basic understanding of Accessibility Standards for website optimization
● Knowledge of WIKI coding a bonus |

● Current SFDPP Certification
● Completion of OTS and OCC within two months if not already completed |
