SFSCI Deputy Chief of Communications

Description of Role
The Deputy Chief of Communications (DCOC) supports the Chief of Communications (COC) in all communications for STARFLEET Sciences. They work closely with the Director and Sciences staff to develop and implement messaging that promotes our programs and the STARFLEET Sciences mission, enhances the reputation of STARFLEET Sciences, and ensures consistent and reliable communication.

Responsibilities include:
Assisting with managing, organizing and archiving all documentation for STARFLEET Sciences
Assisting with the organization’s social media strategy, engaging with audiences across platforms to foster community and enhance STARFLEET Sciences visibility
Assisting with the distribution of all forms of STARFLEET Sciences media and content, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in messaging across all platforms
Ensuring the minutes and attendance records for all STARFLEET Sciences meetings are recorded and properly archived
Other duties as assigned by the COC or the Director

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Proficient in the use of social media (Facebook, Discord) to distribute information
Good writing skills
Marketing experience a plus
Graphic design skills a plus
Proficient at using Google docs and sheets

Training Requirements (if applicable)
Must have current SFDPP certification
Successful completion of OTS and OCC within two months of appointment
