Veterinarian Consultant for STARFLEET Petfleet

Description of Role
	The STARFLEET Petfleet is seeking an experienced, passionate Veterinarian Consultant to support our mission of promoting responsible and well-informed pet ownership among STARFLEET members. This role focuses on offering general pet care advice to Petfleet staff and contributing educational content for our membership. As a key consultant, you will play a vital role in helping STARFLEET Petfleet deliver insightful, accurate, and diverse pet care resources across various platforms, including newsletters, social media, and online courses. Responsibilities: • Provide quarterly articles on pet care for the STARFLEET Petfleet newsletter. • Offer guidance on pet care topics for STARFLEET Petfleet’s ongoing promotional and educational efforts. • Assist in developing STARFLEET Academy courses that address broad aspects of pet ownership, from general care to specific animal behaviours, beyond typical companion animals. • Advise STARFLEET Petfleet staff on general pet health and wellness questions and make recommendations on content suitable for the STARFLEET Petfleet community. • Engage with the STARFLEET community on Facebook and Discord to answer questions or offer support as needed.
Skills Needed
	Required Qualifications: • Strong writing skills for developing quarterly newsletter content and web articles on pet care topics. • Familiarity with Facebook and Discord for interaction with STARFLEET Petfleet’s community. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience consulting on pet care or animal wellness topics. • Demonstrated ability to work independently while offering accessible, engaging, and practical advice to a broad audience.
Training Requirements (if applicable)
	Training Requirements: • Current certification in STARFLEET’s SFDPP (Data Protection) course. • Veterinary training, experience, or similar background in animal science, animal care, or pet health consulting.
