Description of Role
STARFLEET Auxiliary Services is seeking applicants for the role of Director of STARFLEET Intelligence – the senior-most leader of the Intelligence Auxiliary. This position oversees one of STARFLEETS Auxiliary Services, guiding its mission, training programs, unit organization, awards, communication standards, and overall service to the membership.

he Director of Intelligence is responsible for leading the Intelligence Staff, ensuring that the Auxiliary operates transparently, effectively, and in accordance with STARFLEET policies, the SFAS Handbook, and the STARFLEET Membership Handbook. This position reports directly to the Director of STARFLEET Auxiliary Services (DAS). The Director must ensure that all Intelligence programs and initiatives align with the established vision and expectations set by the Commander, STARFLEET and the Director of Auxiliary Services

We are seeking a member with strong leadership skills, excellent communication habits, and a commitment to an inclusive, open, and service-oriented Auxiliary that enhances the STARFLEET experience for all members.

The Director of STARFLEET Intelligence serves as the chief administrator and strategic leader of the Intelligence Auxiliary.
Core responsibilities include:
-Overseeing all Intelligence divisions Operations, Training and ensuring they function cohesively and transparently.
-Upholding and enforcing Intelligence manuals, including the SOP Manual, Training Manual, and Awards Manual, ensuring updates align with SFAS policy and STARFLEET-wide standards.
-Ensuring open membership access, compliance with SFAS expectations, and no practices of secrecy, exclusivity, or unreasonable barriers to entry.
-Maintaining the Intelligence Chain of Command, communication policies, and monthly reporting obligations.

-Supporting Operations, including recognition of achievements, managing awards programs, and promoting training and advancement across all levels.
-Collaborating with the DAS, representing Intelligence to STARFLEET Command, and ensuring the Auxiliary provides meaningful value to the membership.
-Maintaining the Intelligence website, communication channels, and online presence in accordance with SFAS requirements for transparency and accessibility.
-Providing positive, outward-facing engagement that reflects STARFLEET’s values of service, inclusion, education, and camaraderie.

Skills Needed
A successful applicant should demonstrate:

Leadership & Administrative Competence

Experience leading projects, or departments—preferably within STARFLEET.

Ability to organize decentralized groups, track ongoing initiatives, and maintain consistent work output.

Preparedness to enforce policy respectfully but firmly, including training expectations, reporting requirements, and communication standards.

Communication & Responsiveness

Consistent, reliable responsiveness following the communication policy.

Ability to communicate clearly across all Intelligence levels.

Ability to write, review, and approve formal documentation, manual updates, announcements, and training or policy clarifications.

Policy, Governance & Compliance Awareness

Understanding of STARFLEET Auxiliary Services governance (per SFAS Manual) including expectations for openness, transparency, and elimination of elitism or secrecy.

Knowledge of the Intelligence structure, training path, awards program, and operational duties as defined in Intelligence manuals once established.

Ability to ensure all Intelligence programs provide real value to STARFLEET and remain consistent with organizational mission and branding.

Member-Focused Approach

A commitment to helping members grow through training, education, recognition, and camaraderie.

Ability to mediate issues, encourage respectful conduct, and foster a healthy environment across all of Intelligence.

Understanding that Intelligence’s purpose is to enhance the STARFLEET experience—not operate as an exclusive or isolated club.

Training Requirements (if applicable)
Familiarity with digital communication tools (email, Discord, social media), online forms, website content management, and database affiliation processes.

Willingness to coordinate updates with SFAS web administrators.

Training Requirements (if applicable)
Applicants must meet the following at the time of appointment or commit to completing them promptly after selection:
-Current SFDPP Certification (required for all SFAS leadership positions)
-Completion of OTS (Officer Training School)
-Completion of OCC (Officer Command College)
-Familiarity with all Intelligence Manuals (SOP, Training, Awards) and willingness to uphold and enforce them if they exist or create them as required.
-Ability to comply with SFAS reporting and communication policies
-While not required, prior affiliation with Intelligence will be considered a strong qualification.
