This position oversees one of STARFLEET’s most structured and activity-focused Auxiliary Services, guiding its mission, training programs, unit organization, awards, communication standards, and overall service to the membership.

The Director of SFSO is responsible for leading the SFSO Command Staff, ensuring that the Auxiliary operates transparently, effectively, and in accordance with STARFLEET policies, the SFAS Handbook, and the STARFLEET Membership Handbook. This position reports directly to the Director of STARFLEET Auxiliary Services (DAS). The Director must ensure that all SFSO programs and initiatives align with the established vision and expectations set by the Commander, STARFLEET and the Director of Auxiliary Services.

We are seeking a member with strong leadership skills, excellent communication habits, and a commitment to an inclusive, open, and service-oriented Auxiliary that enhances the STARFLEET experience for all members.

The Director of STARFLEET Special Operations serves as the chief administrator and strategic leader of the SFSO Auxiliary.
Core responsibilities include:
-Overseeing all SFSO divisions (Command, Operations, MACO, Training, CyberOps) and ensuring they function cohesively and transparently.
-Upholding and enforcing SFSO manuals, including the SOP Manual, Training Manual, Awards Manual, and Uniform Guide, ensuring updates align with SFAS policy and STARFLEET-wide standards.
-Ensuring open membership access, compliance with SFAS expectations, and no practices of secrecy, exclusivity, or unreasonable barriers to entry.
-Maintaining the SFSO Chain of Command, communication policies (including the required 5/10 response standards), and monthly reporting obligations.
-Supporting Operatives and SOUs, including recognition of achievements, managing awards programs, and promoting training and advancement across all grade levels.
-Collaborating with the DAS/VCS, representing SFSO to STARFLEET Command, and ensuring the Auxiliary provides meaningful value to the membership.
-Maintaining the SFSO website, communication channels, and online presence in accordance with SFAS requirements for transparency and accessibility.
-Providing positive, outward-facing engagement that reflects STARFLEET’s values of service, inclusion, education, and camaraderie.
